The Pharmacy Department at SGHUMC is a patient centered care department responsible for the whole drug cycle management in the hospital.
Its responsibility is to guarantee the Right medication for the Right patient at the Right time with the Right dose and by the Right route of administration.
The pharmacy team controls all the steps in the drug cycle management by ensuring high quality services:
Selection, Purchasing, Receiving, Storing, Dispensing and Controlling stocking areas in the hospital.
The Department also accommodates a centralized “Cytotoxic Preparation Unit” supervised by an Oncology Pharmacist and assisted by chemotherapy nurses and technicians ensuring that all preparations are done with the highest quality standards of aseptic techniques and safety and in a timely manner.
The Pharmacy provides an information service through its “Drug Information Center” to all health care professionals in the hospital and by publishing a periodic newsletter “PharmUpdate” for in-hospital circulation.
