COMMUNITY HEALTH CLINIC
The health sector in Lebanon is in deep crisis. Medical coverage has become a commodity that only a small privileged percentage of the Lebanese society can attain; a luxury at times where health should be a basic right. |
The division provides a vast range of evaluation and treatment service for patients with kidney diseases and/or hypertension. Diagnosis can vary from laboratory testing to biopsies, ultrasounds and CT scans. Both out-patient and in-patient comprehensive care delivery is available. Our services extend to include:
- Hemodialysis Unit: Our kidney dialysis unit was one of the first in the region (since 1975) providing exemplary care for patients with end stage renal diseases (acute and chronic kidney failure). This unit contains the most advanced dialysis machines and cardiopulmonary monitors that ensure the delivery of the safest care by our expert physicians and well-trained nurses in a home-like environment
- Peritoneal Dialysis: which is provided both automated or manual at the comfort of your own home.
- Blood Pressure monitoring and treatment: Diagnosis of hypertension is done through the latest technologies to detect non-cardiac etiologies including renal artery stenosis and other adrenal and kidney diseases and treat accordingly.
- NOODTD (National Organization for Organ/Tissue Donation and Transplantation): is a non-profit organization affiliated with the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health and targeted towards implementing a Lebanese Model for organ and tissue donation and transplantation. Coordinating kidney transplantation is one of NOODTD’s role. To achieve this, our division in coordination with other specialties at Saint George Hospital University Medical Center has created in collaboration with NOODTD a trained procurement coordinator team, in order to effectively detect and manage potential donors as well as the transplantation process.
