The Plant Maintenance & Engineering Department is committed to Saint George Hospital Pathways for Excellence. In conjunction with this commitment, the department plans to provide facilities and ensure a healthy, safe, pleasant and functional environment.
The department aims to maximize the quality and efficiency of projects execution and maintenance activities such as electrical services, Air conditioning (HVAC) services, plumbing services and general building maintenance services.
The department scope of action covers repairs, preventive and periodic scheduled maintenance of non- medical utilities, systems equipment and grounds maintenance.
The department provides a hospital wide maintenance service 7 days a week over 24 hours – Hotline: 1153. Night shifts as well as week-ends and holidays services are covered by the operators.
The Environmental Services Section
The Environmental Services Section at Saint George Hospital University Medical Center (SGHUMC) ensures that cleaning; hygienic services and safe environment are provided and practiced throughout the whole hospital premises.
TThe Environmental Services Section provides a variety of housekeeping, cleaning, waste management, pest control services, to ensure a safe and infection controlled environment for inpatients, outpatients, staff, physicians and all visitors of the hospital premises.
The main objective of the Environmental Services Section is to ensure a comfortable and infection-free environment for the patients, and to ensure that safety and security regulations are made known to all staff of the Hospital.
